Andrew Valko was born 1957 in Prague, Czechoslovakia. He came to Canada in 1968. He completed and obtained his Diploma in Graphic Design and Applied Arts from Red River Community College 1977, Winnipeg, Manitoba. He studied printmaking with Toshi Yoshida at Yoshida Hanga Academy, Tokyo, Japan (1983 &1985).
